AGARTALA, Oct 27 (TIWN): Congress’s student wing NSUI on Thursday called a press meeting over the increasing rape incidents in the state and demanded justice in both cases.

In reference to the incidents, an NSUI leader said that in case of the Kumarghat rape incident, not all the accused persons were arrested.

“Many cases are pending in Police stations. The culprits must be arrested immediately without delay”, said the NSUI leader.

The statement came from NSUI after two gangrapes occurred in two separate spots in Tripura --- Kumarghat and Kamalpur. In Kumarghat, BJP Minister Bhagaban Das son Chandrashekhar Das’s name came out among the accused persons, but police after 7 days of the incident in press release showed that no name of the Minister’s son Chandrashekhar Das was included.

BJP also gave a delayed statement 7 days after the incident, which raised the question if Bhagaban Das’s son was not involved in the rape incident, why the party was silent till now? In other words, why has the party taken so much time to give a formal statement in this rape incident?

Kumarghat gangrape incident was occurred on 19th October where all the accused persons are from BJP party.
