AGARTALA, Oct 10 (TIWN): Over the increased price of CNG and PNG in an abnormal manner SUCI held protest movement in Battala with a demand to reduce the Price as the Price hike will affect the common lives.
A SUCI leader said that the Gas is produced under Tripura’s soil on the joint venture of Tripura Govt, Assam Govt and Gail, and it is not imported so the price could not be compared with the International Market Value. It is alleged that every year several times TNGCL hikes the price of CNG and PNG, as a result the price hike will hit the common lives as well as the less-earner’s families.
SUCI strongly condemned the Price hike of CNG and PNG in an abnormal manner, so they demanded the Price hike should be repealed soon.
However, the report says, the PNG price which was Rs 17.05 in 2018, now the price stands at Rs 38. 40 in 2022 which means the price is hiked over Rs 20.
On 1st Oct the Govt. suddenly price hiked of CNG without Prior Notification which made the auto drivers resentment heavily. In the last 4.5 years the price of CNG has increased to Rs 40 and on Oct-1 more Rs 9.30 was increased.
The jumping price of CNG and PNG affects the common lives, amid the price hike of other necessary commodities.
