AGARTALA, Aug 30 (TIWN): Rubbishing BJP National President J.P.Nadda’s claim that per-capita income of Tripura people increased to 30% under the BJP era, CPI-M State Secretary Jitendra Chowdhury on Tuesday said that it was a total lie, and has no connection with the reality. Addressing media, Chowdhury said, “Nadda ji is my ex-colleague and I welcome him to Tripura but I must say what is true. So many untrue statements were delivered by J.P.Nadda. He claimed, per capita income has risen to 30%. How can he say that? Income increases if new investments are made. What such happened in last 4,5 years? People’s incomes have decreased, not increased”.
“People’s income has downed and moreover excise duties have imposed on petrol, diesel. State-produced ga price has increased more than double.
‘9 National Highway projects are not of BJP. It’s a project under UPA Govt at Centre and Left here’, added Chowdhury.
Displaying the Vision Document, Jitendra Chowdhury said, “Nadda ji has claimed Vision Document is fulfilled. Where are 50,000 jobs? What happened to the promise given to 10323 teachers ?”
“What happened to Anganwadi center employees’ pay hikes? Vision Document also has promised to regularize all contractual employees, remove of fixed pay system etc. What happened to those promises ?”, asked Chowdhury.
