AGARTALA, Aug 23 (TIWN): Teachers’ crisis has hit BJP-led Tripura Govt schools across the state. A teacher in Teliamura Chakmaghat Bazar Colony English Medium School named Kalpana Jamatia on Tuesday has expressed extreme resentment against the infrastructure crisis in the school saying there are only two teachers and thus all the classes have to be clubbed together from Class-1 to Class-5. From teaching to official works all have to be done by the teachers and if one teacher is absent then it turns more difficult to handle the situation. Kalpana Jamatia also said that the other teacher remains maximum times at out of the school for various official works and so she has to manage the school alone mostly.
The school has other infrastructure related problems as --- the classrooms are on the verge to be collapse, no proper drinking water and lack of other facilities like benches. But still the school inspector has no initiative to improve the infrastructural quality of the school.
Ironically, Tripura has over 3,500 TET qualified unemployed youths who are regularly in protest to get jobs.
Last week police lathi-charged the unemployed youths when they gheraoed Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath’s home.
