AGARTALA / NEW DELHI, Aug 21 (TIWN): Tripura Congress party leaders during a press meet at New Delhi while lashing out at the BJP for massive violence in state, mentioned that they have replaced glass-windows with steel as stone pelting at opposition party offices has become a daily activity of the BJP party.
In the last one year many times, Congress Bhawan was attacked which is located in front of two police station main gates.
Addressing media, Congress leader Ajay Kumar said, “Everyday there is violence. In 1 month Sudip Roy Barman was attacked twice, bulldozer used to attack Congress Bhawan. Our Congress Bhawan was multiple times attacked in front of two police stations. Has anyone arrested ?”
“After attacks on Congress, police arrests Congress activists. Our FIR is not lodged and with heavy attempts, we try to lodge FIR”, stated Ajay Kumar.
The statements came after a violent attack took place in Jirania where a Congress family was attacked and so far no arrest was done. The infamous SDPO of Jirania took an advance leave before the attack on the Congress family. During the attack on Sudip Roy Barman, the SDPO himself was present and allegedly supported BJP workers to attack on Sudip Roy Barman.
