AGARTALA, July 21 (TIWN): Writers’ Chalo Abhiyan’ was held under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee on 13th July, 1993. During the Abhiyan’ total 13 TMC workers died after Police’s Gunshot. Remembering the victims, TMC paid them Tribute in Tripura along with the nationwide TMC's program.

The Abhiyan was made demanding the Voters’ Identity Card be made the only Valid Document to verify voters in order to put a stop to rampant ‘Scientific Rigging’.

Since the incident TMC has been paying tribute to the martyrs and today in Tripura TMC activists paid them tribute at Agartala Chittaranjan Road located party state headquarter.
