AGARTALA, January 8 (TIWN): The West district Police today organized a seminar on Police-Public interface and management of crimes at Agartala Nazrul Kalakshetra. The seminar was organized as a part of the Police Week 2015. Being present during the programme today the Director General of Police (DGP) K Nagaraj laying a stress on the police public relation said that the bond between the police and the common mass of the state should be strengthen in order to maintain the law and order here in the state.

 The accidental death here in the state should be zero whereas on the other domestic violence across the state rested at 40%-50% till today as compared to other crimes against women, said DGP K Nagaraj today. He further added that the crime against women and the domestic violence is a breakdown of family structures and the activities of the youths is easy to fall in prey to such crimes. Therefore it is better to bring the situation under control rather than to get into the cases, FIRs and punishments, said Nagaraj. Adding to that he said that the young generation has to be aware of such crimes in order to stand in a strong base.

Later during his speech on law and order situation of the state DGP K Nagaraj said that pre-condition is a good law and order for the development of the state. And one of its roots is to strengthen and develop the police public relation and the bonding.

However during the programme today the schools and the college students participated the seminar and along with other police officers remained present.
