AGARTALA, January 8 (TIWN): On Wednesday R D Minister Naresh Jamatia invited the media persons in a less meet held in the state Secretariat in the evening. Initially his purpose was to prove that this Left Front Govt is honest in every inch but this attempt of the Minister actually came out to be a dimema for him as R D Minister himself skipped the Press Meet. In the beginning of the Press Meet R D Minister Naresh Jamatia urged the media persons to convince the people of the state that the state govt is sincere about transperancy and also claimed that not a single incident of corruption is existing in Tripura . At once a group of journalists started to raise questions back to back. All of them demanded that to prove his point R D Minister should say that the Audit Reports are totally baseless and false. However, RD Minister denied to say this . Again when asked whether the allegations raised by the Leader of Opposition Sudip Roy Barman about the massive scams that are now the headlines in most of the medias are false, the minister said that these are to some extent false. But the media persons then started to present the data of massive scams that have been occurring in Tripura since May. Within a few minutes R D Minister Naresh Jamatia might have realized that the stunt taken by him is now proving to be boomerang. Without giving any hint , he ran out the Press Meet in the middle, an unprecedental move never witnessed before in State.

In the ongoing 'Scam Festival' everyday,  more and more scams are being unearthed and even the opposition parties to are now demanding CBI probe in Bishalgarh R D Block's MGNREGA scam and other centrally sponsored funds.

Leader of Opposition Sudip Roy Barman through RTI has succeessfully brought out many  of massive scams like Bishalgarh and Rupaichhari R D Block like MLA Birjit Sinha has brought out massive NRHM scam in Kailashahar CMO Office. But in an interesting manner state govt  has started to come out claiming that not a single paisa is looted so far . Quite surprisingly the 'Ultimate Boss' of CPI(M) Govt Chief Minister Manik Sarkar declared in a party rally ," Only in Bushalgarh R D Block incident of corruption has been found but the others are simply false and baseless." Initially  CPI(M) state Secretary Bijan Dhar came out bursting against media blaming them to be biased and even threatened them. And all on a sudden even the Cabinet Ministers have started to come out to protect the image of the so-called honest(?) Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. Unfortunately sometimes the proverb ," As you sow so you reap" gets boomerang even to the most intelligent ones. And probably R D Minister  Naresh Jamatia will feel the same.

TRIPURAINFOWAY.com since May 2014 has unearthed several massive scams across the state. Some of these are :

1) Looting of Rs 50 crore from MGNREGA fund in which Comrade BDO Bimal Chakraborty, who is the brother of DYFI state Secretary Amal Chakraborty cum CM Manik Sarkar's most favoured TCS Officer, is the prime accused.

2) Rs 40 crore scam on NRHM in Kailashahar CMO Office

3) Rs 90 crore scam in NH44 construction ( alleged that the construction agreement was given to BRO in Rs 90 crore but it can be completed in Rs 10 crore. Obviously the lions share of this money went to the party in power)

4) Rs 41 crore scam in Rupaichhari R D Block

5) Rs 25 crore scam in Teliamura R D Department

6) Rs 35 crore scam in Kailashahar Horticulture Department

7) Rs 15 crore scam in Agri Superintendent Office at Mohanpur( regarding the buying & distribution of potato seeds).Bijoy Roy, the  Store Keeper has been suspended

8) Rs 3 crore scam in Bamboo Project( jungle cutting) in Kadamtala

9) Rs 5 crore scam involved in the construction of Kadamtala Hospital

10) Rs 2 crore scam in Tripura Apex Fishery( purchasing of dry fish, limestone, fish food)

11) Rs 2 crore scam in purchase of watermelons plants

12 Rs 1.crore looting in Mekaghar R D Block's Golden Jubilee Celebration

13) Rs 1.82crore scam in Memaghar R D Block(Assement Year 2011-12)

14) 1.27 crore scam in Udaipur Municipal Council.

15) Rs 5 crore RMSA scam

Looking at this, it has to be accepted that Tripura, under Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, has been encouraging its people to be honest with moral values. And even after so much corruption, neither state govt nor even the ruling party has got any chance of getting the media attention? Now the questions that will arise from it are:-

1) Is Naresh Doing his duty as promoted by the CM?

2) Has the Chief Minister instructed or made it compulsory to promote his mission?

3) Is R D Minister making such statements under pressure from the CM?

4) Why the state govt does not  make any official announcement about the corruption?

5) Has Manik realized that his end is near?
