AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Tripura Infoway News Media Editor Saumen Sarkar has slammed Tripura BJP Minister Sushanta Chowdhury for attempting to murder his own political mentor Sudip Roy Barman. Addressing the people of Tripura in his social media post, TIWN Editor said, ‘I am being bound to address the issue because the level of BJP political extremity has crossed all limits. Attack on Sudip Roy Barman is an attack on Democracy and the attack will be rotated on various opposition leaders unless attempts are taken. Yesterday around 50 BJP goons held an attack at Congress member Pritviraj Goswami’s house. The goons attacked Pritviraj’s father Alok Ranjan Goswami. Getting information, Sudip Roy Barman rushed to the spot, and then the goons attacked him too in presence of notorious Minister Sushanta Chowdhury. It was a clear attempt at murder but fortunately, Sudip Barman was saved”.
Condemning police’s role of Sunday during the attack on Sudip Barman, Editor said, Now police’s work has turned to barricade the goons when they attack people and same happened in Sudip Barman’s case yesterday”.
Slamming Sushanta Chowdhury, TIWN Editor said, “Sushanta Chowdhury who is the main head behind the violence is such a politician whose political career, even MLA post are on mercy of Sudip Barman. Sushanta Chowdhury became Minister just few months back and replaced himself as the right hand of Biplab Deb than Sudip Barman. He is a Minister and loaded with works of lots of departments but instead of focusing on his works, he is roaming with bike gangs across Agartala from evening”.
“Now Sushanta Chowdhury has become second-in-command of BJP’s violence after Biplab Deb. Most of his career he was a Congress member and it’s only a few years since he is in BJP and became close to Biplab Deb a few months back. But I have had no idea that one day Sushanta morality will go to that level. How many times, Sushanta must have taken lunches various times in Sudip Barman’s home. Sushanta Chowdhury just has labeled himself as a Mirzafar of Tripura’s politics”, said Editor.
