BISHALGARH, June 9 (TIWN): Landslide in BJP’s house is continuing. BJP-led Panchayat chief Supta Rani Pal has resigned from her post ahead of By-polls citing physical illness. Besides, she also has resigned from Panchayat membership. Supta Rani Pal was Gokul Nagar gram panchayat’s Panchayat head of Fatikara Assembly Constituency under Kumarghat block. In the resignation letter, she has mentioned her physical problems and the resignation letter was handed over on June 4th and on 8th June her resignation was accepted after enquired by Kumarghat RD Block Panchayat Officer.

Meanwhile, just ahead of By-Poll, rumours have started circulating in the area surrounding the sudden resignation of the BJP backed chief. It is alleged that some local leaders of BJP in the area had been pressuring her in various ways for some time related to some work done.

Rumours are circulated that loot has been going on in the area, which forced her to resign from this Post.

Kumarghat Collective Development Officer Sudip Bhowmik said that the vacant seat of ‘Pradhan’ will be selected after an re-election process.
