AGARTALA, June 6 (TIWN): Opposition Congress on Monday has submitted nominations for 3 constituencies out of four where by-polls will be conducted on June 23 and vacated a seat to give moral support to Tipra Motha party to win the by-poll in the SC reserved Surma constituency. Tipra Motha is an indigenous party has first time nominated a non-tribe to fight election. Baburam Satnami, a tea garden worker submitted nomination for the Surma constituency yesterday.
On being asked by media about visible seat sharing among Congress and Tipra Motha, Congress Incharge Ajay Kumar said, Congress just want to see the Surma is free from BJP. Kumar also mentioned that Pradyot Manikya has been a very good friend to Congress.
Ahead of the Assembly Poll, alliance between Congress and the strongest indigenous party Tipra Motha which is ruling ADC now signalled a possible alliance among these two in 2023 Assembly Poll also.
