AGARTALA, March 21 (TIWN): Election comes and goes but the plight of villagers remains unchanged. Prior Election Leaders- Ministers, MLAs promised to resolve various issues in their own localities but after winning the election no visible sign of Developments could be seen. Along with the work, income and food crisis in rural areas the water crisis too hits, which disrupts the common lives. The water crisis has become the major issue for common people in village areas but no initiative is taken to fix those issues throughout the state. Raising scarcity of Drinking water, local women gang with bucket and pitcher at Durgapur village adjacent to Gandachhara subdivision blocked the road on Monday.
Due to road blockade the vehicles from both opposite directions got stuck and had to wait for a long time. On receiving road blockade news SDO of DWS Department rushed to spot and tried to withdraw them but the locals initially did not agree to withdraw their blockade, later after getting ensured the removed their road blockade.
Govt. ensured prior to the poll to provide free water supply in every household but in reality a different scenario has seen of water crisis in Tripura.
