AGARTALA, Feb 26 (TIWN): Following September 8, 2021's style when in a broad daylight newspaper office, party offices were attacked, BJP goons in CM Biplab Deb’s constituency Banamlaipur wearing helmets held a severe attack on Congress rally today leaving many injured and frightened. Many were injured including former MLA Sudip Roy Barman. A Congresswoman worker was hospitalized. After the incident, Congress workers were protesting with slogans and taking party flags in hands and when Congress was protesting near BJP Mandal office at Banamalipur, the Mandal office bearers threw petrol bomb. Then the situation turned more violence and stone-pelting was exchanged.

Tension prevails in the entire Agartala city.

Condemning police’s role, Sudip Roy Barman said, the police should wear bangles in hands and take out all the ornaments from their wives.

“The role of the police was condemnable. They have no right to continue in their uniforms. They must give up their uniforms and start wearing ornaments", said Sudip Roy Barman while reacting to media after the incident.

This incident has generated heavy panic in the entire area.

Congress staged a protest after the incident.

After the incident, Trinamool Congress also staged a protest against the increasing violence state-wide on the opposition party workers. Trinamool has accused BJP of all attacks and clashes.
