AGARTALA, January 3 (TIWN): The Police day parade 2015 celebrated at AD Nagar police ground on Saturday with the uniformed police platoon saluting Chief Minister Manik Sarkar during their ceremonial parade. Several wings of the Tripura Police comprising of the TSR battalions, West PS, West Women PS, Traffic Unit and Home guard wing participated in the parade today.

 Later after the parade by the police wings Chief Minister Manik Sarkar handed over the award to the best police personnel under various categories for their distinguished services. Assistant Commandant TSR 12th Batt. Bankim Debbarma has been awarded with the best police man of the year 2014. Besides, TSR 12th batt. has been selected for the best TSR battalion of the year 2014, Bishramganj Police Station has been selected for the best Police Station whereas Bishramganj OC received its award, Kailasahar Police Station has been selected for the best Police Station for Prayaas 2014 and Unakoti District has been selected for the best district in Prayaas.

During the programme today Chief Minister Manik Sarkar along with the Chief Secretary G. Kameshwar Rao, DGP K. Nagaraj and other police officers remained present.

However as part of the police week programme a traffic awareness programme will be held at the capital city Agartala on January 4. Model Prayaas and launching of citizen portal and closing ceremony of inter unit sports meet will be held on January 7.
