AGARTALA, Feb 16 (TIWN): Under pressure of the Higher Authority AMC staff evicting Poor daily wagers from the roadside in the name of making City Agartala ‘SMART’.
The eviction Process for the past few days is continuing, and the victim are roadside flower sellers, hawkers and now the AMC mayor targeted the Auto Stand in Nagerjala area, which has been serving years after year.
Not only auto Drivers, but also the traditional Bamboo traders who have been continuing their bamboo trading above 60-70 years in Nagerjala area have been planned to be evicted but the traders filed a case at High Court against this eviction and the case is undergoing at HC.
The AMC Mayor, Dipak Majumder today visited the Nagerjala area and said that Auto drivers, bamboo traders and those who have been continuing their work by occupying the edge of the River have to be removed soon, as ’SMART CITY’ work has already started.
However the auto drivers opposed the eviction and refused to vacate the area. Centering the eviction chaos generated in the area in presence of newly elected AMC Mayor Dipak Majumder.
