According to the details of the incident, when the woman identified as Hanufa Khatun set fire to her house on Saturday night, her clothes caught fire from behind. Her body was severely burnt. After hearing her screams, the family members put out the fire and brought her to Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital.

The doctor of Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital, seeing the deteriorating condition of the woman after initial treatment, referred her to GB Hospital.
