AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): On Dec 7, 2020 the JMC organised a Protest movement in front of City Center, Agartala demanding their lost jobs back. But on the 52nd Day of their long protest i.e. on 27th Jan without prior announcement the teachers were brutally attacked by Tripura Police by imposing section-144 suddenly from midnight. Their Protest spot was destroyed, several teachers were injured after the attack by Police and children too were not spared from the Police’s brutal attack.Centering the Police inhuman act on 27th Jan, 2020 on terminated teachers and their family members, the terminated teachers from now onwards will celebrate 27th Jan as ‘BLACK DAY’ until their matter is resolved. However, JMC’s protest in front of City Center was started after CM Biplab Deb failed to keep his Promise made on Oct 2nd, 2020 to resolve the teachers issue within 2months. The JMC teacher Ajay Debbarma stated, “Several times we contacted with the Director of Education Department seeking by name termination letter with Writ Petition, who challenged them under which writ petition but despite visiting several times, the concerned department failed to respond them properly.”

The terminated teachers demanded ‘Termination Letters’ and if the teachers don't get any positive response then they will go on a bigger movement.
