AGARTALA, Jan 25 (TIWN): A day after Republic Day, 2021, Tripura had experienced a nightmare-like situation amid the police’s series of attacks under the Home Dept injuring over 500 persons who joined in 10323 teachers' protest for 52 days in a peaceful manner. In the incident, even children were also frightened and one girl child of a physically challenged mother was beaten up by police. Few of the teachers could never recover from the mental trauma after the incident. The torture of the agitators did not end after the police’s attacks, but the injured persons were forcefully discharged from the Govt hospitals. Recalling that day, 10323 teachers under the Joint Movement Committee will observe a “Black day” in Agartala Paradise Chowmuhani on 27th January 2022, that is on Thursday.
Addressing a press meet, the Joint Movement Committee joint-convener Ajay Debbarma said, the Black Day observation will continue till the teachers get justice. JMC also has sought termination letters from the Govt of Tripura which is not being given even after many requests.
