AGARTALA, Jan 24 (TIWN): Advocate Bhaskar Das has accused the BJP led State Govt and Police Dept of harassing the front row CPI-M leaders with fabricated, politically biased cases. The statement came after, for around one and half hours, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar was interrogated by Crime Branch on Monday with all sorts of "Irrelevant" questions.

Reacting to the ongoing investigation against CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar, Lawyer Bhaskar Deb said, “The Crime Branch multiple times had interrogated Pabitra Kar, who is fighting against the BJP from the front row. The allegation against him is about Rs. 28 lakhs of unlicensed property and earlier also police raided his home. Hours after hours he has been interrogated by police but nothing was found but after interrogating him today, police said, they would call him again…….this is simply harassment of the opposition leaders”.

Earlier two houses of Pabitra Kar were raided for 11 hours. 

The lawyer further cited, how Badal Chowdhury and so many other CPI-M leaders were harassed in the last four years.

“Badal Chowdhury, Late Bijan Dhar, Jitendra Chowdhury nobody is left from the vendetta cases lodged by the Govt”, said Bhaskar Das.
