AGARTALA, Jan 19 (TIWN): Amid the ongoing protests by various Colleges in Tripura, seeking postponement of exams due to Covid-19 and more time for exam preparations, the ICFAI University students protested by blocking roads. The students demanded a postponement of the exams like other College students. Police and the local administrative authority had rushed to the spot and tried to take control of the situation. The officials asked the students to withdraw from the blockade as due to blockade public lives have been affected, but the students said, the ICFAI authority is unready to listen to the students and so they were compelled to block the road.Students of various colleges demanded postponement of the exams or online exams.
Yesterday, General Degree College students asked the Govt, why there is no similar rule for all students? Why few colleges will take online and few will take offline exams?
ICFAI is a private University and so the students said, if the College authority wants, it can postpone the exams.
On the other hand, Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath had blasted the agitating students asking, why in exam times, the students always become more scared about Covid? He asked if students can come to Colleges, why can’t they sit on exams?
