AGARTALA, Jan 9 (TIWN): Although in political rallies, especially BJP’s programmes no one wears any mask, the District Administration in West was seen imposing Rs. 200 fines on the common men which erupted. An auto driver who was imposed with Rs. 200 fines said, “When we do not have incomes, the Govt is too rude and forcing us to pay fines. Why can’t the Govt donate some masks to us ?” A woman slammed the officials’ role as she was forced to pay fines for giving a ride to a man who was not wearing a mask. She asked, why would she pay a fine when she was wearing a mask? All these created chaos, verbal arguments between the people and the common men. On the other hand, the administration announced with a loudspeaker that strict actions will be taken against law violators, and also fines will be imposed on them if they do not wear masks and can’t maintain social distance.
Talking to the officials, they said as per Covid protocols the public has to obey the law or needful actions will be taken against them.
