AGARTALA, Nov 19 (TIWN): Trinamool Congress has announced to move Supreme Court after the party came to know that no CCTV camera will be used in Tripura Municipal Election on November 25. Reacting over the tendency of Tripura Election Commission, TMC leader Babul Supriyo said, “Amid ongoing barbaric attacks on the TMC workers, there is no action by the Commission and by deciding not to use CCTV cameras, the Commission has violated the protocols and guidelines of the Election Commission. CCTV, VVPATs are a must for any poll”. Tripura Election Commission has reportedly decided to organize Election without any CCTV cameras which has erupted heavy resentment among the opposition.
TMC State Convener Subal Bhowmik announced that TMC is moving to the Supreme Court against it.
“Election Commission is in full nexus with corruption and rigging. Have you heard that in today’s time no VVPAT and CCTV cameras are used in polls ?”, asked Subal Bhowmik.
Recently a video went viral in social media where a Tripura Govt vehicle was spotted removing TMC flags. Apart from that various on record crimes were revealed but police failed to take action. With all these issues, TMC has written a letter to the State Election Commission and also said, the party is not stopping here and moving to the Supreme Court.
