AGARTALA, Nov 6 (TIWN): Ashes of four killed in the October 3 Lakhimpur Kheri violence arrived in Tripura.
The Yatra might cover several districts of the state.
Talking about the significance of the programme, Sanjukta Kashan Morcha leader Pabitra Kar said. “Farmers have been martyred in the Lakhimpur incident… this sacrifice of the farmers will always be written in the pages of history.”
"The Narendra Modi led Govt is not listening to the farmers. For 11 months, the farmers protested. Over 50 attempt of murder happened and on 3rd October it was the ugliest attack where agitating farmers and a journalist were killed on spot", said Kar.
“Above 700 farmers were martyred in this protest movement. Last incident’s martyrs' ashes are being taken to various places and for Tripura our leader Jitendra Choudhury has carried the kalash. We will go to 8 Districts with these kalashas. In Agartala, in Dashamighat we will observe the programme”, said Kar.
