AGARTALA, Oct 29 (TIWN): A local young trader was allegedly beaten up by 2 drug sellers in IGM Chowmuhani area allegedly on Thursday. Allegation was raised against West PS Police for reaching at the incident spot IGM Chowmuhani area late from West PS, as Police needed hardly 5-10 mins to reach at the incident spot but from West PS, Police came after one hour of the incident.
With huge resentment over the irresponsible behaviour of Police the victim trader asked, “Will the Police rush to incident spot after murder?” The victim trader alleged that often the accused sells syringes, drug containers and contraband items openly in IGM area. But despite Police knowledge, Police play role as a silent spectator and do not take initiative to arrest the drug sellers as Police take bribes from them. The two drug sellers allegedly threatened to kill the trader by stabbing him.
Now the question is where is common People safety in the city Agartala? If Police rush to incident spot late after long time of the incident then who will take responsibility? Question also being raised how can people are getting chance to continue drug trade in the center of the city despite strict ‘Nesha Mukta Tripura’? If the drug sellers are selling contraband items freely despite Police knowledge then why has no arrest been done yet?
Now it remains to be seen what stern action will be taken against the two accused.
