Agartala, Dec 25 (TIWN): Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) area level Youth Festival was conducted at the Samar Smriti Bhavan in Bankumari on Thursday. The festival was inaugurated by the Mayor of AMC- Dr. Prafullajit Sinha. Over 35 youths have participated in the different musical events during the programme.

After inaugurating the event, Dr. Sinha urged the youths to involve themselves in culture if they want to be safe to be misguided. “Youths are the backbone of the nation. If they are misguided then the nation will not be able to go in a straight line”, said Dr. Sinha.

Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC)- Samar Roy, former Secretary of Tripura Public Service Commission (TPSC)- Agni Kumar Acharjee and many other dignitaries attended the programme.

Similarly, with the initiative of Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) Department, Jirania block level Youth Festival was organized at the Sukanta Smriti Community hall in Sachindranagar Colony on yesterday. The Deputy Speaker of Tripura Legislative Assembly- Pabitra Kar inaugurated the programme.

During the festival, over 200 youths under the Jirania block areas have participated in various musical events including Bharat Natyam, One Act Play, Song, Manipuri Dance and Tabla.
