AGARTALA, Oct 21 (TIWN): Soaring Diesel prices crossed Rs. 100 in Tripura, affecting public lives. Vehicle drivers demanded fare hikes as the expenditure is also hiking. Increasing petrol, diesel prices have put the common men in trouble. On a shocking note, diesel prices have jolted the vehicle drivers on Saturday marking Rs. 100.01. Petrol Price premium already crossed Rs. 111 and normal petrol price is above Rs. 107. Talking to a vehicle driver, who purchased diesel at Durga Bari petrol pump, said, “Diesel prices are increasing but what about the fare. There is no similarity between vehicle fare and the diesel price. At the same time, all the common men are in trouble due to massive fuel price and commodity price hikes. Govt should take some action to save us”.
“Nobody is thinking about the common people. By purchasing diesel we run our vehicle and from there our family expenditure comes but now the rate has gone out of our capacity. The Government is not thinking about the poor people”, said another vehicle driver.
