AGARTALA, Oct 13 (TIWN): For the first time in history, Udaipur Matabari has suffered from such a power outage crossing over 16 hours and that’s on the occasion of Maha-Astami.
This is the first ever incident when Matabari Tripura Sundari temple has suffered from such a crisis amid no emergency line was working. Resentment erupted among the public for 16 hours of power cuts in the whole Udaipur as before 15 days of Durga puja, long power-cuts were given in the name of “Durga Puja” maintenance work. Question raises what work was done, if such an unwanted power cut on the day of Ashtami occurred. Not only Matabari but the entire Udaipur city never faced power cuts on Durga puja. Locals said, not only today but everyday from early morning power cut problems began and as a result, households can’t store water in tanks also.
Due to a transformer related issue that erupted in the main power house in Udaipur, the entire town has gone under load-shedding for an uncertain period of time. The power outage started early morning 3.30 am.
Resentment brewed among the devotees. Devotees were seen buying candies at their own expense to lighten up Temple’s inside.
