AGARTALA, Oct 1 (TIWN): Tripura Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers who are yet to be regularized even after the High Court’s order have demonstrated in Khumulwng, ADC. In this protest, the SSA teachers also reminded the State BJP-IPFT Govt about pre-election promises given to them. The teachers filed a case in the Tripura High Court in 2017 demanding regularization and on
23rd February 2021, High Court ordered Tripura Govt to regularize the SSA teachers. However, Law Minister cum Education Minister Ratan Lal Nath stated that the High Court had given authority to the State Govt to apply a scheme for the SSA’s regularization and on that basis only 45 teachers could be regularized and other teachers also have to clear TET to become regular employees.
In that context, SSA teachers said that the State Govt is misinterpreting the verdict of the Tripura High Court and thus not taking necessary actions to regularize them. In protest, the SSA teachers sat in demonstration today.
In the contempt of Court case, which was filed by SSA teachers as the State Govt is not regularizing the SSA teachers even after High Court's order, the next hearing will be on October 4.
Tripura High Court on 23rd February, 2021 had asked the State Govt to regularize all SSA teachers but Tripura Govt announced to regularize only 45 teachers who are TET qualified.
Tripura SSA teachers had filed the contempt petition as according to them, the High Court had asked the Govt to regularize all teachers. Now the next hearing is on October 4.
