AGARTALA, Sep 15 (TIWN): Lakshmi Bai Smriti Mahila Awasan in the city, Agartala Krishnanagar under the Department of Social Welfare and Social Education has been facing various problems for a long time. Reportedly, the women dwelling in the Hostel are not getting pure drinking water as the water tank inside the hostel remains dirty and the office staff are not taking initiative to clean the tank. Also there is an empty space behind this hostel which is filled with huge jungle but the authority did not take responsibility to clean the empty space, resulting often venomous snakes enter inside the hostel, allegedly.

The women demanded- 24 hours security guard should be provided, pure drinking water availability should be there, servicing of aqua-guard water purifiers should be done regularly. Cleanliness of overhead water tanks should be maintained and everyday municipality water supply should be available for 24 hour.  Bushes, unwanted grasses should be cleaned in the hostel premises on regular basis. Room related issues, like electricity, plumber etc to be solved as early as possible (within seven days) after reported by the boarder, and along with other various issues the woman raised demand.

The suffering women informed the matter to the Director of Social Welfare and Social Education Department to solve the matter.
