AGARTALA, Sep 12 (TIWN): Reacting over BJP"s vandalism across Agartala City on September 8, Tripura former Chief Minister, Opposition Leader Manik Sarkar said that the total BJP community can not be blamed for the violence because if keenly observed, only a small portion of the rally participated in vandalism because after all nobody is bad by born but the leaders who had personal benefits out of that political violence they only indulged in it. Manik Sarkar further said, "Whereas in Agartala nobody was arrested for the massive violence of 8th September, but in Sonamura the victims who were attacked, now are being harassed and arrested because they belong to the opposition. But FIRs were lodged on behalf of us, but no action against the accused persons in those FIRs. Police can not be blamed because they are under extreme political pressures. However, minimum responsibility as police personnel should be accomplished, which is totally missing".
"However, by doing these, how can the independent thinkers be prevented from joining rallies, programme ? People who love to stay with the society and stand by the victims, they can't be controlled by such autocracy", said Sarkar.
"On 6th September when we were holding a peaceful programme, the BJP workers attacked without provocation. We are not yet raising slogans against the Govt but just raising demands for common men", said Sarkar.
Manik Sarkar was addressing a blood donation camp organized by DYFI when he said these.
