AGARTALA, Sep 9 (TIWN): Two newspaper offices - 1) Pratibadi Kalam, 2) Daily Desher Katha, 3) Duranta TV and at least 50 party offices of CPI-M have been set on fire by BJP.Yesterday, a rally was led by BJP leaders Rajib Bhattacharjee, MLA Kalyani Roy, Mohila Morcha President Papia Datta, Yuva Morcha leaders Nabadul Banik, Viki Prasad. The rally stopped in front of Pratibadi Kalam newspaper and then two party offices of CPI-M and at last Daily Desher Katha newspaper office. One by one, these four offices were set on fire, all the vehicles, bikes, bicycles were burnt, stone pelting has injured many. The BJP workers also attacked the police. So far no arrest of any BJP worker was done. The BJP leaders however are the prime accused persons for the political riot. FIR was lodged against many BJP leaders including Rajib Bhattacharjee, Papia Datta, Tinku Roy.
CPI-M Party on Thursday organized a massive protest in Agartala condemning BJP led brutality across Agartala City on Wednesday. Talking to the media, CPI-M leader Pabitra Kar said, "BJP's leaders themselves are miscreants. Without any provocation, BJP members first attacked the PB24 Office. 3 media persons in PB24 were injured and if the Editor Anal Roy Chowdhury was not saved by his employees he also could be injured severely. Then one by one CPI-M party offices were burnt till late-night". The protest started from Paradise Chowmuhani area and the CPI-M rally participants walked across the capital city Agartala. Today police deployed heavy security although no miscreant in connection with yesterday's incidents was arrested yet.
