AGARTALA, Sep 8 (TIWN): Many CPI-M families in Dhanpur faced deadly attacks followed by a successful rally organized by the party led by former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar. The attack was organized by BJP's professional goons, although such attacks are not new for this state. CPI-M member Babul Debnath, Madhusudhan Debnath and many other CPI-M members' homes were damaged in these political terror attacks. Along with house-vandalization, the miscreants looted the cash and gold ornaments from the houses. The attack took place after CPI-M held a massive programme in former CM Manik Sarkar's constituency Dhanpur on September 6. On September 6, BJP organized an attack on Manik Sarkar's convoy and injured CPI-M party members, but unlike other days, CPI-M used self-defence right after a clash in Dhanpur left many injured. Police imposed lathi-charge on BJP workers on 6th September to control those who started stone pelting on Manik Sarkar.
But, the CPI-M successfully organized the rally and while delivering his speech, Manik Sarkar declared the Dhanpur CPI-M members as "Heroes" and "Heroines" of the state for crossing all barriers and defeating goons. He asked CPI-M across Tripura to follow the same technique of counter-attack on violent attackers.
