AGARTALA, Sep 2 (TIWN): Paramedical passed out unemployed youths have demanded permanent recruitment under the Health Dept. A protest was staged in front of the Health Dept today over massive unemployment problems. The unemployed youths also placed a deputation to the Health Dept Director over the issue. Right now over 2000 Paramedical passed out youths are unemployed in Tripura. Talking to the media, the job aspirants said, "It has been many years that there is nil recruitment. Even after requesting the Dept again and again, no development came to the matter. Moreover, recently on April 24 a notification was given seeking contractual employees who will get Rs. 20 per sample collection for Covid. First of all, we do not deserve such jobs, but the Govt has privatized the Diagnostic centres and as a result, private companies will always try to get the maximum benefits. They are appointing unemployed youths through outsourcing, exploiting them with low payments. We demand a permanent recruitment for our secure future".
Although in Tripura 8th Passed MLAs are becoming Cabinet Ministers and drawing lakhs of salaries per month, unemployed youths who acquired degrees with talents and hard-work are roaming jobless.
In such an irony, it has been known that the Lab-technicians who are suffering due to massive job crisis have been offered to collect samples for Covid-19 and in exchange they will get Rs. 20 per sample collection. "Do we really deserve such offers after investing our time, money, labour to get degrees ?", said the Job Aspirants.
The unemployed lab-assistants demanded permanent posts' recruitment immediately.
BJP before election in 2018 had promised to fill up 50,000 vacant posts within 2018-19 March if BJP is voted to power. But even 5,000 recruitment could not be done in the last 3.5 years whereas over ten thousands terminations happened in the state.
