AGARTALA, July 27 (TIWN): CPI-M party on Tuesday has expressed 'shocks' over the ongoing propaganda against the previous Left Govt and the Party by some Anti-Communist parties who are desperately claiming the Left parties as Anti-Tribal. Former CM cum Opposition leader Manik Sarkar said, Left always worked for unity and by such narrow propaganda the main issues are being misled. Sarkar mentioned that the 'Council of Tiprasa' organization had submitted a memorandum to him as a copy of a letter to the CM and accordingly he (Manik Sarkar) wrote a letter to CM Biplab Deb to know what is the matter but a section has allegedly misused Manik Sarkar's statement and at the same time a social media poisonous propaganda was seeded against Manik Sarkar on this issue.
Addressing media, former Minister Aghore Debbarma said, "A section of people are trying to malign Left's image saying the Left is anti-Tiprasa which is baseless. From Education sector to hospitals all were developed by the Left Govt. In case of language, the people who are alleging that Left Govt had suppressed Kokborok, do they know once upon a time, talking in Kokborok turned a matter of shame for the people here ? Left Govt upgraded not only Kokborok but also 19 tribes' traditions were promoted equally. Rubber plantation was illegal in state and Left Govt made it legal which later became the base of tribal area's economy. So there is no base in such propagandas. People know, what's Left's contribution to the indigenous development in Tripura. Tripura had nothing before and the journey of development till now has been successfully carried out by the Left Govt".
Former CM Manik Sarkar, former ADC CEM Radha Charan Debbarma, former Minister Aghore Debbarma attended the press meet.
