AGARTALA, July 26 (TIWN): Amid speculations that Karnataka and Tripura CMs will be replaced by Central BJP, today Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa has resigned. It can be mentioned here both Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa and Tripura CM Biplab Deb have recently visited New Delhi and met PM Modi at the same time and both claimed they had state developmental discussions at Centre but today Karnataka CM has resigned and broke down in tears while addressing in the Assembly. Now, a genuine question arises which state is the next target of the BJP as in Tripura the popular MLAs have already demanded replacement of Biplab Deb immediately from CM post. Various media, including Assam media had claimed that once Karnataka CM is replaced, then Tripura CM can be the next move of the centre.

Tripura's matter is crucial as the next Assembly Election has left only for 20 months and Trinamool party is trying its best to emerge as the Chief Opposition party in Tripura and claimed over 1 lakh voters have joined Trianmool.

The party also claimed, many MLAs of BJP and CPI-M are in touch with Trianmool. Amid all these, what step Central BJP takes to revive the BJP here in Tripura, it's yet under suspense.

Before few months, with the arrival of BJP National leader, Tripura BJP kariyakartas had raised "Biplab Hatao" slogan.

Karnataka Chief Minister, B.S. Yediyurappa submitted his resignation to Governor Thawarchand Gehlot on Monday after tweeting that it was an honour for him to have served the state for two years.

In a tweet in Kannada, he said that he has submitted his resignation to the governor and the latter has asked him to continue as Interim chief minister until his successor is announced.

"I have decided to resign as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. I am humbled and sincerely thank the people of the state for giving me the opportunity to serve them. I am grateful to PM Narendra Modi and BJP national president J.P. Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their support," he tweeted.
