AGARTALA, July 24 (TIWN): On suspicion of theft a 26 years old boy was brutally beaten at Kalondhepa area under Belonia PS while he was on the way to his sister's home in the same area. The critically injured boy is now fighting with death in hospital bed.

According to the family sources, Sajal Debnath of Paikhola Nath Para under Belonia subdivision while on a visit to his sister's home at the Kalondhepa area under Belonia PS was brutally beaten on 18^th July on theft slander. Reportedly, Sajal was beaten with stick, dragged her skin and tongue with plus, also needles inserted in his tongue and fingers and the entire incident was occurring in front of the locals but no one extended helping hand towards Sajal and saved him from the incident.

Tapas Pal, Jiban Debnath, Nayan Debnath, Naru Pal, and many others in Kalondhepa area were brutally beaten to Sajal, family sources said.

Sajal's family alleged that the police later went to the spot on receiving news but in front of police he was beaten brutally with sticks on head, which caused to a lot of blood comes out from his entire body. Many injury marks were also noticed in his body. The injured Sajal was first taken to Paikhola Health Center and then to Bilonia Sub-Divisional Hospital, where the on-duty doctor referred him to Agartala GB Hospital for better treatment.

But due to financial crisis Sajal's family brought him back to GB Hospital from Belonia Hospital. Eventually, in collaboration with the Belonia Police Administration he was sent from Belonia Hospital to Agartala GB Hospital for better treatment. Arun Chandra Bhowmik, MLA of Belonia, also provided financial assistance of Rs 10,000 for the treatment.

The victim Sajal's family demanded that those who were involved behind the criminal act be punished severely by the police. However, it is known Sajal is fighting with death in hospital bed.
