AGARTALA, July 9 (TIWN): The Crime Branch on Friday raided former CPI-M Minister Pabitra Kar's house in connection with an ongoing investigation claiming the former Minister's weath is unmatched with his income. On being asked, none of the police officials had said anything about the purpose of the raid in the senior Communist leader's home. Earlier, Pabitra Kar in connection to the ongoing investigation had said that for a year he has been interrogated on his financial incomes, property and assets. Kar called a press meet a few days before the raid and said that it's a political vendetta against him even though he submitted all necessary documents. Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar has also alleged that the investigation is happening under political pressure as earlier one more former Minister Badal Chowdhury was harassed in a politically motivated case and police could not submit any chargesheet against Chowdhury.
However, from the investigating team nothing was clarified yet in detail.
