KAILASHAHAR, July 2 (TIWN): In a major breakthrough, 6 drug-smugglers were arrested by Irani PS police in Unakoti District.

The seized drug items would be worth lakhs as per police source.

Reportedly, Irani PS Police based on secret sources had raided an area under Arabinda Nagar, under Kailashahar and seized the drug items. 

Yaba Tablets, Brown Sugar, SP Tablets, cash and mobiles were seized. 2 bikes were also seized.

The arrested 6 men are : 1) Litan Nath, 2) Tarit Ali, 3) Abdul Sahid, 4) Durud Ali, 5) Asid Ali 6) Tantu Pal. 

The raid took place yesterday led by Irani PS OC-Almagir Hossain.

Getting information Kailashahar SDPO Chandan Saha, Kailashahar PS OC-Partha Munda rushed to the spot.

More Details : On the basis of secret information the police of Kailashahar Irani PS recovered huge amounts of drugs of several lakhs of rupees from Arvind Nagar Colony in Kailashahar last night. Police arrested 6 drug traffickers based on tip off acting on tip off and Yaba tablets, Brown Sugar, SP Tablets, 5 mobile phones including cash were recovered from them. The six drug peddlers have been identified as Liton Nath, Abdul Shahid, Touhid Ali, Durud Mia, Azim Ali and Tantua Pal of Kailashahar. Among the 6 drug traffickers, Liton Nath had been arrested by the police with drug paraphernalia several times before, but he has been continuing his drug trade without any disruption.A large police force including Iranian PS, OC Alamgir Hossain and Assistant Sub-Inspector Pankaj Das jointly led the operation last night. On receiving the information of recovering drug items Kailashahar SDPO Chandan Saha and Kailashahar PS, OC Parth Munda rushed to the Irani PS.Police said they have registered a case under the NDPS act against the six arrested drug peddlers. Presently 6 drug traders are in the lockup of Iranian police station. Presently 6 drug traders are in Irani PS and it is suspected that after investigating the police could find out the main mastermind behind the drug trade.

The arrested 6 drug dealers will be sent to the District and Sessions Judge's Court today.
