AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): Before Election without voters' permission politicians roam house to house promising "house to house jobs" with folded hands and if necessary they will give a "Sasthang" pranam to the voters but once power is given, voters can not meet them without appointment. It was demonstrated by Chief Minister Biplab Deb today after he used police force to prevent unemployed youths from meeting him. Since morning the Veterinary job aspirants wanted to meet Chief Minister Biplab Deb and gathered in front of his quarter but instead of meeting them and to know what is the issue, Biplab Deb used police as medium to tell the unemployed youths to come with appointments. But fact is that the youths were trying to get an appointment for 2 months and application is already submitted in Secretariat but no appointment was given. The Veterinary Doctors told media that after 7 years, there was a ray of jobs in Veterinary Dept after Chief Minister Biplab Deb yesterday posted in his social media that 16 posts will be filled up for Veterinary Officers (VO) but first of all, 16 posts are very minimum as per expectations of the job aspirants amid huge vacancies and secondly all vacant seats were for SC and ST candidates, leaving no space for the UR category. But as they could not meet CM Biplab Deb, now they will again try to get an appointment.

But matter of concern is that the posts are very less (only 16) amid huge vacancies.
Veterinary is a prestigious post and only after making a good rank in Joint Entrance examinations, these posts can be achieved by a science student with eligible marks in HS.
Moreover, it takes total 5.5 years to become a Doctor but amid pathetic conditions of the Veterinary hospitals in state, there is no attempt of the Govt for robust recruitment.
All these matters have forced the unemployed youths to come at the CM's quarter today.
