AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): 2 pandemic waves have hit Tripura along with the whole nation but Tripura Govt hasn't taken steps to recruit nurses amid unemployed nurses' numbers are over 5,000.

Nursing once turned out to be an easy option for Tripura students to get jobs and due to that, a good number of students  each year either inside state or from outside the state have bagged their degrees in nursing but now the situation is totally different and already passed out nursing students are unemployed at a massive number. So, nursing as a career option has no longer remained a guaranteed one for investment. Right now more than 5000 nurses are unemployed which will increase in the next few years further.

For 5 years, no recruitment was done in ANM and MPW posts. The unemployed, qualified youths have demanded immediate recruitment.

Even the Nursing institute Principal at Udaipur demanded over 5000 nurses recruitment in the state but the Govt's intention is not clear.
