AGARTALA, June 19 (TIWN): In demand to withdraw case against a man from Bishalgarh PS, a group of women in Kalkalia area attacked a woman. The incident took place in Kalkalia area under Bishalgarh police station.
It is known, the victim, a resident of Kalkalia area of Bishalgarh, filed a molestation suit against her uncle-in-law, Himanshu Sinha at Bishalgarh Women's Police Station on Thursday. After the incident, a group of 10-12 women from the area entered the victim's house on Saturday morning and pressured her to withdraw the case from the PS.
The incident turned into a scuffle at one point members of both groups were slightly injured. Victim's allegation was that her uncle-in-law, Himanshu Sinha has been harassing her in various ways since 2018 and also alleged that once Himangshu posted her picture in Social media and addressed her as Himanshu’s wife. Victim and her family lodged a complaint at Bishalgarh police station in this regard. Upon hearing the news, ten to twelve women from the area entered her house and beaten up, abused her with slang and her parents, and also snatched gold ornaments, mobile phone along with cash. Victim claims that there was various evidence against Himangshu in her mobile phone.
Both the parties have lodged complaints at Bishalgarh Women's Police Station in connection with the incident.
