AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): With the petrol price has crossed Rs. 100 in Tripura and Diesel price is too nearing a century, the State Congress on Wednesday has organized a protest at Agartala Motor-stand located petrol pump voicing against the soaring fuel price hikes. Addressing the media, Congress State President Pijush Biswas said, "Under Narendra Modi, the Govt has sold off everything and there is nothing much left to sell off. Now, as there is no alternative to run the country due to his Govt's ignorance over the economy, it has started looting the public pockets. Few times back, commodity prices were increased and now, when in Tripura cooking oil has gone to Rs. 200 and the State Govt is silent, on the other hand the petrol, diesel is routine-wise increasing. Today the petrol price can not be more than Rs. 60 to Rs. 65 but now the price has crossed Rs. 100".

"We want the public to support our protest as India can not progress unless Modi is going away from power. The Modi Govt does not think about the common men at all. From cooking gas to fuel everything is at hike. Our protest will continue till Modi Govt continues in power", said Pijush Biswas, Tripura State Congress President.

Petrol Price is India actually Rs. 36 and rest of the Price is due to taxes imposed by State and Central Govt.
