Jamai Shashsthi : Sellers alleged 'losses' due to Curfew

AGARTALA, June 15 (TIWN): "Jamati Shashsthi" which is a day considered for the son-in-laws who visits in-law's home with family and have delicious lunches after blessing ceremony, this year is not celebrated like other years due to Covid-19.

Income less in Covid situation made common people's pockets dry ahead of Jamai Sashshti, Vendor faces severe loss who came to sell Sashshti Puja stuff.  Jamai Sashshti to be celebrated on June 16 but compared to other years the small businessman who sells Sashshti Puja stuffs are facing severe losses as there is lack of buyers.

The small vendors said since morning they are waiting for customers to sell Sashshti Puja stuff but empty pockets amid Covid Situation have created shortage of customers in the market.  A vendor said the price of Sashshti Puja stuff has already decreased compared to other years but also  then the customers are not buying Puja stuff, which clearly shows the empty pocket has hit common people. Moreover the Covid deaths and rapidly increasing positive cases which is generating panic among citizens, is another reason for shortage of customers in markets ahead of Jamai Sashshti.  Centering severe losses amid the current situation of Covid, downcast has been noticed among little earners, vendors.

Also, in Agartala and Curfew imposed other places, celebration has been either cancelled or restricted from house to house.Sellers who every year sell Shasthi items are alleging losses. In meat markets also same situation was observed.  Hilsa fish crisis was reported in Tripura as due to border restrictions imports of items could not be held.
