AGARTALA, June 12 (TIWN): According to the complaint of locals, on June 7, two Bangladeshi citizens crossed the border and abducted farmer Rashed Alam, a resident of Sahapur area of Sobhapur Gram Panchayat border area under Sonamura PS, and took him across the border.
Rashed’s wife tried to stop them. The Neighbors came forward shouting at the abductors, but till then the miscreants had crossed the border with Rashed.
The incident was reported to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate and BSF camp soon after the abduction but even after six days, they took no initiative to find Rashed. His wife demanded the administration and the BSF bring back her husband immediately.
Meanwhile, the residents of the border village questioned how two foreign nationals entered India under the strict surveillance of the BSF and abducted Rashed. Locals claimed if there is a gap somewhere in the middle of surveillance.
