AGARTALA, June 10 (TIWN): On 4th June the JMC had observed Black Day before Shiksha Bhawan by wearing black ribbons to protest against the State Govt’s inhuman role on 10,323 teachers. Not even a week passed another teacher, Himangshu Sutradhar’s death was reported on Wednesday raising the death toll to 102. After losing jobs for a long time the teacher was suffering from severe diseases and before his death he sought help from the State Government for his better treatment. But the inhuman Government played blind role like "Dhritarashtra", said a JMC member after the terminated teacher's death. The demised teacher, Himangshu left his two children and a wife and it is known his son has stopped college education and his daughter also could not get treatment due to financial crisis.

Terminated 10,323 teachers are in severe crisis, facing extreme poverty after losing jobs as financial crisis to loan burden hitting them, instead of helping them the state government is playing an inhuman role with 10,323 teachers, said the Terminated teacher, Kamal Deb on the death of 102 teachers.

He also said, "The teachers are dying without proper treatment one after another and some teachers are facing severe difficulties to arrange food and also not being able to arrange medicines for their old parents. As among 10,323 teachers several teachers had committed suicide over debt burden.  If we look back, our CM, Biplab Deb had ensured on 3rd Oct that the state government will make a permanent solution to the terminated 10,323 jobs within 1-2 months but the state government has made U-turn from taking responsibilities of 10,323 teachers. As the death toll rose to 102 but the merciless government yet not showed any condolences to the victims' families".

The terminated teachers have not been getting salary for last 15 months, and there is no way of income left in this COVID situation. Amid this situation the terminated teacher, Kamal Deb sought help from the State Government.
