AGARTALA, June 9 (TIWN): Theft cases are on a massive rise in Tripura with huge numbers of unregistered robberies by ruling BJP workers. Schools, Govt offices are not also spared from theft incidents as many schools have been looted by thieves recently and Akshvani like offices also reported theft incidents. Under BJP Govt, a new culture has been added in Tripura that is house to house attacks and then snatching gold ornaments from women but when complaints are filed it is often seen that instead of action against the hooligans, victims are further victimized under ruling party's pressure. Last year, Tripura High Court had questioned the police's role which did not take action against a BJP MLA but the first persons who filed FIR were arrested, harassed by police after filing FIR at Suryamaninagar.

Same yesterday a report came where, DYFI worker Parimal Das's home was attacked by anti-social activists on 22nd May and after this incident, Parimal Das had lodged an FIR against the miscreants but after that BJP activists filed FIR against Parimal Das and police finally instead of arresting the miscreants, arrested the victim to investigate the matter based on the FIR based on BJP's complaint. Such incidents of robbery have been reported statewide.

Yesterday, a thief was caught by locals and brought to West Agartala Police Station as Police did not reach on spot even after being informed.

While brining, the thief was tied with ropes. On being asked, a senior citizen said that it is illegal to tie someone but when police don't do their job, then the public are bound to take such actions.

Last week Agartala city's prominent schools like Netaji Subash Vidyaniketan, Bani Vidyapith schools were looted. Many other famous schools in the city were also looted by thieves raising questions over the law and order situation.
