AGARTALA, June 8 (TIWN): Mysterious death of 55-year-old Bidyamohan Singh in Durgapur village of ward no. 3 of Birchandranagar Vill panchayat in Kailasahar has been reported. A large police force, dog squad and forensic team led by SDPO Chandan Saha of Kailashahar rushed to the spot.
It is known that the deceased Bidyamohan Singh has his own dry fish shop in his area and has two sons. The eldest son, Bikash Singh and the youngest son Bishal Singh both got married and had separate families but their parents lived in separate houses.
According to local sources, Bidyamohan Singh used to drink heavily 24 hours a day and often had quarrels with his wife at home. Reportedly, Bishal Singh, the youngest son of the deceased Vidyamohan Singh, complained that he was shocked to see his father's dead body after coming home last night. At that time, Bishal’s elder brother Bikash Singh informed his younger brother that he had killed his father by strangling him and also requested his brother not to tell anyone. After hearing this, the younger brother Bishal informed the Panchayat member and the village head at night.
Though, Bishal blamed his elder brother, Bikash for his father's death but Bishal's words was inconsistent as after seeing Bishal's father's dead body at ten o'clock at night why Panchayat member was informed instead of informing the police and neighbours? However, local sources said that the local Munipuri community had evicted the family two years ago for the anti-social activities of their two sons, including the demise Bidyamohan Singh.
Based on this, the police arrested the youngest son Bishal Singh for preliminary interrogation and took him to Kailasahar PS, said Kailasahar SDPO Chandan Saha. Later the Police took Bidyamohan Singh's body to Unkoti District Hospital for an autopsy.
