AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): A whole village has been without electricity for three days after a power pole broke in a storm. Despite repeated complaints, the power corporation has not taken any initiative to repair it. The incident took place in Ward No. 7 of Bishalgarh East Laxmibil Gram Panchayat. According to the complaint, a tree fell on a power pole in the early hours of Saturday night due to a storm after which the whole village is facing an acute power cut for 48 hours.

However, it is alleged that no action was taken after the incident was reported to the electrical corporation office. Even the corporation officials did not come to visit the spot despite knowing about this.

Suffering for over 48 hours the villagers showed serious anger before camera and demanded the corporation to repair the line immediately.

The entire village has been without electricity for past three days after an electricity pole broke down in a storm last Saturday. Despite repeated complaints, the power department has not taken any initiative to repair it.

As a result, the entire village was cut off from electricity.  Allegedly the electricity department officials did not come to visit the spot despite repeatedly informing.

Centering long hours power cuts in the area has seen angst among people. A local said, accidents can happen at any time due to torn electric cables.  The local people now demanding the electric department should take immediate initiative to repair the broken electric poles.
