AGARTALA, June 7 (TIWN): Sushil Das, a member of CPIM's Aralia local committee, was attacked at his house by ruling party miscreants for distributing food items among Corona positive patients in his area. His son and daughter-in-law were assaulted physically, besides the goons also snatched the daughter-in-law’s gold chain from her neck and broke her mobile allegedly. Showing protest, today, Tripura Nari Kalyan Samiti made an FIR at East Agartala Women's Police Station over the incident and demanded severe punishment for the culprits.

Based on details, CPIM party worker, Sushil Das residing in the East Aralia area distributed food items along with the former councilor of the area to some COVID infected families. After the distribution, a gang of 15-20 BJP hooligans rushed to Sushil’s home with the ward President, Badal Ghosh, Rakesh Ghosh, and area leader Namita Das and threatened him for delivering the food items, demanded him to pay them Rs. 20,000 allegedly. When Sushil denied, a BJP activist named, Manish Chakraborty broke Sushil's gate and physically assaulted his daughter-in-law, and snatched her mobile and gold chain from her neck.  Meanwhile, Sushil informed that he is suffering from nephrological problems for years. He is already sick and facing financial trouble to undergo his treatment. “Despite knowing my condition, the miscreants entered my house and looted mobile phone and gold chain from my daughter-in-law allegedly and broke her phone suspecting her making a video of their attack. My only fault was to distribute a few food items among the 4 COVID positive families residing in my area,” said Sushil.

Undoubtedly, the ruling party’s hooliganism is getting intolerable day by day. Lack of law and order and the police administration’s blind role in Biplab Deb’s era are allegedly giving a high rise to violence in the state. Besides, when the people stand for the right to self-defense, the administration puts fabricated cases on them thus supporting hooliganism in the state.
