AGARTALA, June 5 (TIWN): In the western Pratapgarh Thakur Palli area lying under ward no. 40, people have been facing difficulties for a long time due to waterlogging in the streets. Locals claimed despite informing the ward office repeatedly the government took no initiative to build a drainage system in the area which is causing the water to remain stagnant for a long time causing severe difficulties for the locals. During monsoons, the road remains inaccessible for pedestrians and vehicles often get stuck in the mid-road. For 2-3 years the road is left in a dilapidated condition.

From 2018 FY till now, tall claims were done by Chief Minister Biplab Deb about SMART City funding and utilization but after 3 years question raises, where is the outcome of those funding when fates of common men remain same and today only after 15 minutes of raining, the place almost drowned by water-logging. In most of the part, roads have become a death trap.

Normal lives were heavily disrupted due to the water-logging problems. The unhygienic condition of the state has made the situation uglier. Common men suffer in the Heli-riding Chief Minister's state's capital who aroused hope of Water-Logging-Free Agartala city and got heavily voted from Agartala's Banamalipur constituency in 2018.
